Brand Guidelines
Responsive TK Photography website showcasing portfolio imagery and a clean, photography-focused layout.

Overview

Designed and built a photography portfolio website from scratch using provided content. The site tells a personal story, showcases landscape photography, and makes it simple for visitors to connect.

Challenge

Organize and present rich content clearly, create a visually engaging brand that feels professional yet personal, and design a gallery experience that highlights the work without overwhelming users.

Outcome

A polished, responsive website that presents the photographer’s story and work beautifully while driving engagement through clear navigation and an easy contact experience.

Process & Methodology

Content Inventory

Analyzed the provided content inventory to understand page requirements, available assets, and information structure.

Sketches & Wireframes

Hand-drawn TK Photography wireframes exploring page layout, navigation, gallery structure, and content hierarchy.
Explored low-fidelity layouts to organize content, define hierarchy, and plan the user flow.

Style Guide

Established typography, color palette, and brand direction to create a cohesive visual identity.

Final Design

Final TK Photography website design featuring branded navigation, photography imagery, and a responsive gallery-focused layout.
Designed and developed the final responsive experience with a focus on clarity, storytelling, and usability.

Key Design Insights

Content Organization

Grouping information into clear sections — Home, About, Gallery, Contact — helps users quickly find what they need without cognitive overload.

Visual Hierarchy

Large imagery, strategic typography, and contrast guide attention to key messages and calls-to-action, creating an engaging flow.

Gallery Structure

A grid-based gallery with captions showing location and year showcases work effectively while keeping the experience scannable and inviting.

Recommendations / Reflection

Improve Readability

Increase body text size and line height, and ensure sufficient contrast for accessibility across all sections.

Enhance Accessibility

Add alt text to all images, improve keyboard navigation, and ensure the form has clear labels and states.

Responsive Modernization

Further refine mobile layouts, optimize image loading, and consider adding a light/dark mode.

Business Value / Portfolio Value

Showcases Visual Storytelling

Builds a brand-aligned experience that highlights photography, personality, and story.

End-to-End Execution

Shows the full process from content analysis to wireframes, UI design, and final build.

User-Centered Design

Prioritizes clear navigation, an engaging gallery, and a simple contact path.

Portfolio Strength

Demonstrates visual hierarchy, front-end skills, and the ability to translate briefs into polished digital products.

Outcome & Takeaway

A thoughtful design transforms content into connection. This project shows how clarity, structure, and visuals work together to create meaningful experiences.
The TK Photography website successfully delivers a professional online presence that reflects the photographer’s brand and passion. The project strengthened my ability to turn raw content into a cohesive, user-friendly experience that tells a story and inspires engagement.
